Looking at buying an M4 need input
I am looking to buy an M4 for work, and being new to the black rifle market I have narrowed the field down to a Daniel Defense M4 and Rock River M4. both are in the 16" configuration with 6 posistion stocks. any pros or cons to either one. Anyone having any experience with either your input would be greatly appreciated.

The cheaper one.

For the quality and the money, buy a Bushmaster M-4. 0 -
I assume you mean a rifle that LOOKS LIKE an M-4 since it won't be an actual M-4 w/o full auto capability. Most any name brand will work fine. If it doesn't, just replace parts with aftermarkets until you're satisfied. 0 -
What kind of work? I carry a bushmaster carbon 15 that I bought through davidsons for their lifetime warranty. It's cheap and light, and has done all that I've asked of it. And it was cheaper. 0 -
both are fine 0 -
LeonMark,
Both of those are great choices, as are Bushmaster(other than the Carbon 15), Stag arms, DPMS, S&W M&P 15, Olympic Arms, and seveeral other's. I juggle back and forth between RRA, and DPMS...which ever one is available at the best price. There are some to stay away from...Those are ones that are labeled with the HESSE, Blackthorne, or Vulcan Arms logo. They are all the same company, just name changes to try to outrun their quality issues. I would stay away from the ones built by CAI...Century Arms International, too.

I have a Rock River ATH and a Daniel Defense with a 16" 1x7 twist barrel, the Rock River has a 1x8 twist, the Daniel Defense appears to handle the 77 grain 5.56 a little better than the Rock River. Both are quality weapons, you cannot go wrong with either one. 0 -
I have a RRA UTE2 and love it. No issues so far. Mine came with a Surefire rail so if you don't need that you can take about $200 off the price. 0 -
At my range I see ALL of them...ones you've never heard of for sure! I am most impressed with RRA although DD puts together a great rifle too. Have you looked at Lewis Machine and Tool? That would be the only one I would give the nod to over the others mentioned. 0 -
I've had a DPMS for about three yearrs. Runs everything fine that has been through it. 0
