Hard to say. Some folks are interested in guns worked on and customized by noted gunsmiths. Most important thing is documentation such as invoices, or even better photos of him with it/working on it. Some gunsmiths mark the guns they work on in a specific way, if Cannon has done that to yours, all the better.

If none of our members can help value wise, you might consider posting your question(s) to one of the boards on the Ruger forum. Likely if there would be any extra value in a Red Hawk worked on by Cannon one of the Ruger collectors would be aware of it.

You will have to have documentation from him.

I had a couple of S&Ws worked over by the late Mr Cannon, neither was marked to identify his shop. A big mistake shared by many gunsmiths.

(The Model 19 was a dream with a fine DA. I did have to get a stronger mainspring for it, he had thinned the original to where it was one of those Federal only jobs like my Colt Custom Shop Python. The Model 25 was a nightmare, through his shop multiple times and not even close to right until the last trip after he had disbanded his apprentices and gone back solo.)

I am looking now for his bill or something this was 1988 or so the gun is a safe King...I shot it then cleaned it, lost interest, now its time to sell it.......

when this was done his name was all over one of the big gun Magazines,
I had him put the same wood coco grips on and everything the comp, trigger, cylinder was timed,I think that's what it was called...wood grips..I wish I could figure how to add photos, I guess I will just have to get a photo bucket account....
