    Serial number 389903 ..Checkered pistol grip and stock . Does this make it a deluxe model ? Thanks

    1942, First year of W W II. If it don't have any U.S. government markings? Get a factory letter if possible.

    Unfortunately, there are no factory records for the Model 12's.

    Hello Bill,

    Mid March of 1942 to get you a little closer.

    Based on your description, it is highly unlikely to be a Military contract gun.

    Check for hand stamped flaming bomb on side of receiver or barrel.....

    I agree with Bert, I would find it hard to beleave a solid rib was intended for the military.

    That is not entirely true... the factory Polishing Room Serialization records exist for serial numbers 1 - 1970855.

    I hate to show my ignorance, but what am I missing here? If this Model 12 has no US or ordinance stamps, what else about it indicates military usage? Why the question about Gov't contract? Just curious.
