savage 99 scope mount

i have a savage 99 serial#704051 rotary mag and shell counter lever safety can someone tell me when it was made one other question someone drilled and tapped it but 2 front holes are crooked front mount is off does anyone make a sidemount for it thanks

  Check on the hump near the lever pivot bolt. There will be a small stamped oval with one or two numbers and a letter in it. The letter indicates the year of manufacture starting with "A" in 1949. It might be very lightly stamped and hard to see. 6162XX was made in 1951.
