Hello,

Can anyone tell when J.D. Moritz Sohn made Schuetzen rifles? Or any history of the rifle makers Moritz sohn?

  Can't date it for you, but Moritz is the family name, and the inscription should be read as J. D. Moritz and Sohn [son], gunmakers in Leipzig, Germany. A Google search finds an assortment of their guns, and here's a fine example if the link doesn't get bleeped out:
