I have a Walther PP 9mm Kurz and I am having trouble finding the date it was made. SN#62394A

Buddy wants to sell me an import marked Walther PP in 32acp. Pistol is in 85% with one mag, no box or papers. He wants $260. I think this is a great deal any thoughts? Gun is not stolen, my buddy is a Deputy Sheriff.

Although your pistol was made by Manurhin in France, it will have West German commercial proof marks. One of the proof marks is a coded date in the format of two capital letters. Either post quality photos or give us a very detailed description of the proof marks.

We need pics, please. I believe that with Manuhrin and others making / importing them over the years the SN's might be duplicated or at least somewhat spurrious. Is it marked for German military acceptance? Eagle L, Eagle N, WaA'ed? What color are the grips ? Pretty tough to get much of anywhere without some further help from you.

If your PP does not have a date code, it was made between 54-77.

Any markings on baarrel visible through ejection port? Also, another source of info is p38forum.com, there is forum devoted just to PP & PPK.
