Iver Johnson Hammerless Top Break

I just picked up a IJ Safety Hammerless top break to use as a duracoat project. I got it home, cleaned it and now find that the cylinder spins freely in CW direction, locks up when the trigger is pulled and moves CCW with just a very small amount of effort. Even though this is a wallhanger, I'd at least like to have a functional wallhanger when all is said and done. Anyone know of cure?

  If there are removeable inside parts, remove original parts, take them to a machinist and have some new parts made. However it is a wall hanger just like it is with no money spent. Hopefully you have little money in it already. You could also take it to a knowledgeable gunsmith who might be able to repair it. Best

  The cylinder on these and many other lower priced early revolvers is locked only at moment of firing, with trigger fully pulled, at which point the cylinder is held in place by the hand or lever that turns the cylinder and the little lug on top of trigger that rises into the beveled stops in rear of cylinder. The only thing keeping cylinder from counterclockwise rotation is the tip of the hand or lever, easily forced past...
