I thought those 17s were the blow-up guns? I traded mine at a gun show.

If they both work don't worry about it.Sometimes if a round has a taper to it the angle will be more noticable with more rounds. (I hope this makes sense) Kind of like loading a 5.56 or 7.62 in hi-cap mags. The 7.62 has more of a curve due to the taper of the round. This is just a guess but if they both work with eight rounds each the it is a moot point.

Can only speak to the 22LR 597..... There were 3 versions of the 10 round mags. The first won't hold more than 9 and function was still iffy. The second version was better. The newest has a "10" with a circle around it and works well with 10 rounds. Do any of your mags have the circled # embossed into them???

I don't know about the blowing up part as far as which gun or ammo.

I would think a clip would feed .17HMR or .22 Mag. It's the same case with a different bullet.

I did see some of my .17HMR Hornady ammo boxes with a sticker on them saying to not use them in semi-auto guns...?

Yep, they are. The only reason why someone would shoot their 597 chambered in .17 HMR, is if they want to experience what it's like to have a gun blow up in their face.

Personally, I sent mine in, and had it re-barreled for .22 Mag. They did this for no charge, and paid shipping too. It sucks to have a bunch of .17 HMR ammo and nothing to shoot it in... Oh well, I still have my beautiful face to enjoy. [:D]
