Link below shows a gun like you describe (sans engraving), except the gun in the link shows evidence of the action being worked. You will note that the bid on this pristine revolver has stalled at $450.00...so that's the fair market value. Since yours is engraved, and you claim it shows no sign of blue loss, or even the action being worked, you will start to see bids for your revolver, in this economy, stall at about $600.00-$750.00.

Above is a wild-assed guess, as I'm using extrapolation, here. Best, and good luck! (Here's the link, below) Joe

IMHO authentic Colt factory engraved guns that are no longer in production and are in the condition you describe are very big buck collectors items. I believe it will be worth substantially more then the last posters estimate.

[:D] In the end, estimates are just that, estimates. The sure way to determine its value is to list it on GB and cross your fingers.

Yes, desireable. Value could range into 4 figures. Recommend you get it lettered. The engraving could have been done by a famous Colt engraver. Take the grips off and let us know what you see. Class A engraving from that time frame would have added @ 400 USD to the price.

What am I looking for when I take the grips off?
