converting a browning bar to 35 whelen

    Check .35Cal.com , There's a fellow out in Oregon that rebores and cut rifles them . I would think that would be your best route as the 30-06 gas port would probably operate fine for the Whelen ! I know he does it with Remingtons and they work as good as a Gas operated Remington can ! It's an interesting project . If you do it we'd be interested in the outcome , you would for sure have a unique BAR !

    I think Z-Hat will do it. They charge $675 for a complete rebarreling.
    Clearwater would rebore the barrel from .30 to .35 and cut the new chamber neck for $350.

    I think I'd just get some 220 grain .30 bullets or ammo and save the gunsmithing expenses.

    Ditto! There's also better range of bullet choices not mention the .308 has better BC and SD, i.e.,

    .308 .200g NAB BC=.588, SD=.301
    .358 .225b NAB BC=.421, SD=.241
