629-3 Magna Classic
Customer brought one in yesterday that I've never seen or heard of and thought I'd ask you all. S&W 629-3 Magna Classic,44 mag, bright stainless finish #2105 of 3000, all pristine condition, in orginal wood box from S&W, with all papers from factory, including targets etc... Beautiful piece just an unknown to me. Anyone have any ideas of potential value? He'd like to sell but we know it is worth a good bit but like i said not sure of how much?
thanks

According to page 200 of the 3rd edition of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson:
ANIB-$975
Exc.-$800
Hope this helps. If anything I've always found the catalog to be a bit conservative in pricing.

Thanks Capt., that sounds a little more like what I was thinking, but of course gotta find that one person who wants it....

I have number 0071 sitting here that is absolutly new in the display case that I have had $800. on for about 4 months and it hasn't sold. So in this ecnonomic times I think $600 to 700 would be a closer estimate of value. Although I have offered it to a couple guys for $700. with no takers. A few months ago one was listed twice here on gunbroker with a $800. starting bid and did not sell. 0 -
So is the gun "Magna" - Ported? As in compensated by Magna-Port. If it were me I'd do my math like this base price for a regular S&W 629-3 and the cost of the gun getting Magna-ported. That is if your gun has Magnaport installed. Then again selling it at that price in these days is dreamy [:D]. 0
