Winchester Model 42 Excellent Condition
I'm trying to get an idea of the value of my Model 42 410. It is a 3" Full Choke, 28" barrel if I am measuring right, with serial # 1036xx. It is in great condition especially being built in 1953 according to oldguns.net

I have one exactly like it made in 1953, except the forarm has a flat bottom. Went to Ca...la's and their blue book lists mine at 85-90% for 1500.00. Of course they deduct 30% so I would receive 1000.00. I declined and it stays in the safe for now. I have checked the auctions, and sellers starting their model 42's at retail (1500-1800) receive no action, no bids, unless it's a scarce model. Sellers starting their auctions at 500.00 with no reserve end up getting just over a grand with multiple bids.
The market is soft right now for these winchesters.

Put it up for a dollar and if thats an original gun ,,you will see what it will bring,,,and thre is NO BETTER place to sell something like that..[:)] 0 -
I ended up putting on GB with a minimum bid of $1450. It is definitely all original. My girlfriends grandfather bought it in 1953 and he passed away in 1958. It was in the closet until her grandmother passed and she inherited the gun in 2000. It has been sitting in her closet since then. Her now ex husband bought some shells for it but never fired it. All 25 shells are still in the box. 0
