Browning A Bolt Scope Base Mtg Holes

Have a Leupold base for an A bolt short action with 3 mounting holes. Also have an A bolt 7mm08 with 4 holes.

Is the 7mm08 not a short action? Should I get a base for a medium action?

  I assume this is a one piece base. It may only use the front screw on the rear of the receiver. How many screws do you have with the base? HAWKSHAW

  A-Bolts are only configured in short or long actions. The 7mm-08 is a short action.

  On a 7-08 I would go ahead and use the three holes (2-front, 1-rear), assuming that they line up, (I bet they do). The other hole is for use with a 2- base system (4-screws). Rem 700's are the same way. HAWKSHAW

  I am banking that you have a base for a MICRO Medallion, or Micro hunter, and sorry, but it is shorter than the standard short action A-Bolt. I would get the correct base for your rifle.

  Haven't tried yet. Verified right base on Leupold site this AM.
  
  Did not want to break package unless I knew it was the right one. Will check tonight.
