S&W Value
Not sure of the value here of a S&W .38 Military & Police revolver with wood checkered grips, 6 in. barrel. No rust, bright bore, probably about 75% blue. Blue has worn due to age. Ser# 56XXX. Gun locks tight and is in great condition. Last pat date 09.

I have a gun that I have identified as a K frame 6in. pre Model 14
(no model # stamped on frame) adj sights,blue,square butt combat grip.Maybe NRA V.G.,or about 90% condition.I think this is the gun that became the K-38 Masterpiece. I took it as part of a gun trade. I would like to know what some of you think this gun is worth. Thanks in advance for all answers.0 -
Best guess is around 300 on a good day. I see many at gun shows and small shops around here. Seems when they get above 300 they seem to sit on the shelves. Occasionally I can find them in the 200 dollar ballpark.
It's hard to tell in the pic but the barrel finish doesn't seam to match the wear on the frame. Maybe a replaced barrel ?? I often get them in the shop with a mild bulge in the barrel0 -
With a replaced barrel it is worth about $250 in the condition it's in. The knob on the ejector rod looks like Bubba had pliers on it . 0 -
