Winchester Model 94 .30 W.C.R. ?......
Anyone know anything about these rifles? A friend of mine just saw one in a house that he's gonna remodel and asked me if it's worth trying to buy. I spent some time on Googley this morning and the only reference/photo I could find was this one;

Closest thing off top my head..1896 2 years after 94 made some manufactors made a .30 WCF Short Range cartidge. It was said to have the .32-20 performance.
This could be involved with the WCR stamp, but I have no idea.0 -

Sale is by a general purpose auction house, not a gun specialist.
I figure a clerk heard it wrong, read it wrong, or typed it wrong and it is really a regular .30 WCF.0 -
I think you're right Mr. Carse----he's gonna recheck it again tomorrow when he drops off his estimate and get some more info on her. Hopefully it's something cool, cuz the house hasn't been touched in 50 years and the Winny is actually hanging up on the wall like a piece of art.

In my experience guns that are left hanging on the wall as decorators for years, generally have cosmetic issues. There are a lot of variables affecting this though, such as the amount of humidity and pollutants in the room over a period of years, i.e don't be making any big buck offers without a very through hands on.0 -

Model 94 Winchester. .30 WCF s/n (assume under reciever at the front end and stamped) 555683. Barrel is 22" back of chamber to end of barrel. No blueing on reciever, barrel mostly blued> Stock has checkered(?) just after the reciever but not back to the butt. My terninology is all M16 from the '70s, sorry.0 -

A Model 94 with 22" barrel and checkered stock is very unusual.
Maybe if you could get pictures so Bert and other experts could tell you what you are looking at, it would help.0 -
Yes they are. I have a 94 XTR .30-30, it's checkered. I've called Winchester and noone knows what the XTR stands for.
