Benelli MR1

I'm picking up a Benelli MR1 and will mount a 1 to 4X scope on the thing, get it as low as possible and will remove the rear sight to do it. I'm told the angle of the stock drops a bit so that any scope ends up sitting kind of high.

I think the MR1 stock is just a Benelli shotgun stock and that there are supposedly risers available - does anyone know if such a thing is available, found nothing on the Benelli site.

Doug, I have had my MR1 for 5 months now and have put a couple hundred rounds thru it. Its not threaded and I dont plan to, but let me know how it goes for you, threading the barrel and shooting it with a brake on it.

If the muzzle can be threaded without having it pulled from the receiver I'll have it done. I have a gunsmith/machinist friend, I've watched him work & he's done Robinson and Encore barrels for me. Whether the Benelli "receiver" can be chucked on a lathe is probably the determining factor.

I'm hoping the Benelli takes Beta Mags & Magpul- my Volquartsen doesn't, kind of disappointing to have the hi caps (in CA) & non-AR guns to use them in & not fit.
