According to Blue Book they were manufactured between 1965 & 1971.
EDIT #1, Give you the wrong dope. The single shot lever action was made between 1961 & 1978.0 -

The Ithaca Model 49 lever action single shot has a piece of tubing under the barrel to give it the appearance of having a magazine. This isn't a functional magazine though, it's just cosmetic.
EDIT #1, I got this photo of a Ithaca Model 49 off the net it shows the dummy magazine under the barrel made out of tubing.

No it is actually a tube that holds the shots. Much like the Marlin 39A but it ejects from the top instead of the side. Never saw anything like it before. 0 -
Thats exactly what it looks like but the tube holds 13 shots. 0 -
49 is a single shot, 49R is a repeater,a MAgnum was also manufactured and the Model 72 was a repeater imported for Germany, made by Erma Werke. 0 -

Best to post quality close-up photos of your rifle, specially showing the mechanism and all markings. As of this point in time you have me thoroughly confused.0 -
Can't post photos - computer illiterate - maybe when my son gets home this weekend he can post the photos - Thanks 0 -
