Suicide special expert needed

A friend dug a 32RF spur trigger relic in a Va. C.W. battlefield.
From the right side it looks like a Colt Newline but it is different on the left.
There,the sideplate is more like a Merwin & Bray.
It is all steel/iron and is missing sideplate, hammer, grips.
Need a possible I.D..

  If so.. MERWIN&BRAY 1865 to 1868 Usually .22rf.

  No it's not a Merwin & Bray. The right side looks like a Colt Newline
  but the left side doesn't because the side plate isn't a round disk.
  The sideplate cutout extends to the hammer like a Merwin & Bray.
  The dug gun may be more recent than the Civil War.
  My Merwin is a 30 cal cup fire.
