.22 Gallery Gun Find
I found something else. A take-down .22, pump action, octagon barrel,
curved metal buttplate, adjustable sights, backstrap safety slide, marked short, long, long rifle, a big external screw on lft sideplate to break it down. It has patina but not rusty. Yes, I've tried it and it shoots great. It's stamped Meriden Fire Arms Co. Meriden, Conn. I never heard of the company and can't find anything about it. Looks like a State Fair shooting gallery piece. Anybody recognize it? Gone out of bus. or bought out by a biggie? An old lady at church "knew I'd been a soldier" so she gave it to me. She said it's been in a closet 30-40 years since her husband passed.

Get on the auction side, go to Firearms and punch in Meriden. There's one 22 pump listed that looks like what you have. 0 -
Thanx for responses! It is like the one on the auction site. Except, it's older than I thought. The patent was issued in 1912, mine is stamped U.S. & foreign patents applied for. I have given it to my 37yr old son who has a 1yr old son to pass it down to. It has a great history as old man Savage developed it...And the Radial Tire! 0 -
I have one of those that my grandfather bought as a teenager. I also plan on sending it down the line to an undecided grandson when the time comes! I thought I read they were nonly built from 1913-1915, but am going from memory.( Quite possibly wrong!!) 0
