Sheridan Pellet Gun-Part 2
Thanks guys! I will definately post on here when I list it. I am still looking at the big box stores by me for 20-cal pellets. No luck yet. One more question about the rifle so I can list it accurately: I have yet to see another one on the web with a rear sight like this. Maybe you can see it in the pictures. It is not notched, it is a rounded top solid plate with a small hole in the center. Kind of like a peep. My question is, is this original, or not?

Never saw a sight like that on a Blue or Silver Streak. My guess is aftemarket, but I wouldn't swear to it.
Not surprised you're having trouble finding pellets. There are plenty available, but you'll likely have to go online to find them. Air Rifle Headquarters used to have them, but I'm pretty sure they went out of business years ago. Beeman's in California may still be around.
2 minutes on Google and you should be good to go.
I'm with yonson in suspecting the sight to be handmade. Williams used to make the 5-D receiver sight for the Sheridan. I don't think the Foolprooof, but not sure.0 -
Bass Pro Shop had pellets for Sheridan. They are 5 mm. 0 -
also Pyramid Air 0 -
No mention of that sight in "Know Your Sheridan Rifles & Pistols" by Ronald Elbe, am sure it is not factory, probably hand made. Williams offered a peep sight especially made for Sheridan, mounted back by bolt (I have one on my Silver Streak.) Crosman lists .20 cal.(5MM) pellets on their website under Benjamin brand (standard type) or Premier brand (presumably target quality, higher priced, doesn't mean they'll shoot better). 0 -
I know it took me a while, but I finally got the pellets and oil. Oiled it up and it shoots great. It is much louder than I remember my old pellet guns being. Almost sounds like a 22 short. I will be listing it soon and will post the auction number on here when I do. Thanks for the help! 0 -

No offense meant, but a reserve auction on a air rifle isn't going to fly. Better to put it at a starting/base price you can live with, then hope for the best.0 -
Looks identical to mine, bought new in 1956. I think yours would be pretty close to that date. 0
