What did I wind up with Smith 629 ?
I picked up a smith 629 today, 1 of 1000, 1988 Iditarod. On the barrel it says 44 caliber not 44mag. Is this comon for special productions to have the cal listed that way or what?
Any thought's on what it's worth. 629 six inch stainless, unfired in the wooden display box

I don't think its common for special production guns to list the caliber in unconventional ways.
In general these sort of special production guns are generally not worth any more than similar production guns in identical condition.
I'd say $750 +/- $25, given that it comes with a nice wood display box.0 -
I agree, it's just another 629 in a nice box. I would pay more for a nice 29 no dash 4".
