Model revisions?

Is there a place where you can look up what changes/corrections have been made to a firearm as the serial number or model increases?

Specifically, say a S&W Bodyguard 380. The serial numbers started at EAA and are now up to EAM. There's lots of discussions about don't buy lower than an EAF, EAJ, etc so is there a way to look up what corrections have been made with each update?

  The serial number prefix's don't have anything to do with engineering changes. S & W uses hypenated numbers for them, i.e. -1,-2 etc. After the model designation on the frame.
  
  Get a book with the title, "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson", it explains the various engineering changes made on S & W firearms.

  The trouble with the book is that it wouldn't be very up to date. Considering the BG380 just came out last year, it likely wouldn't even be mentioned. I'll look into it to see though. I was hoping there was a website or database somewhere that would have this information.

  The S&W alpha-numeric serial number system is just a means of sequencing the weapons as produced. Eventually there may be a reference that correlates serail numbers to engineering changes, until then we wil have to depend on the model - number system they have used for many years.
