Winchester .22LR 40grn Round Nose
Hi guys. I bought some plated 40grn round nose .22lr 1300fps. high velocity. Impulse buy. Anybody ever try this stuff in a Remington 597? What do you guys think?

I think you should shoot it and see how it works in your 597. WW has worked well enough for me in a number of .22's. It's the Rem. bulk that gives me fits with misfires.
+1 rufesnow, on the CCI stuff.
A few years ago I did some testing of about a dozen brands of ammo with as many guns, including semi-auto and revolver handguns and bolt and semi-rifles. The CCI functioned perfectly in all, and was the most accurate in more than half and ranked second in a few, with only one or two guns having it as their number 3 preference. If I only had one .22 ammo to turn to, it would be CCI Mini-Mags, solid or h.p.0 -
For the last year or so I have been using the Winchester promotional stuff from Wallmart, they sell it under the names Expert, also 333/555, in bulk boxes. It functions better and is much more reliable then the similar stuff Remington and Federal sells. If the ammo your inquiring about is of the same quality, it should be OK. YMMV.
CCI Mini-Mag solids is the stuff I use in fussy guns that have functioning and reliability problems,with other types of ammo though. If it don't work there is something wrong with the firearm your trying to shoot it in.0
