Need help with engraved 870
I posted eairler about the 870 that is engraved. I email remington with the serial number and they told me it was made in 1950. Does any one out there have any more infromation about this gun, value grade ect. Thanks again for the help Daniel.

I'm pretty certain it's a 870 F (premier) custom made best resource is Remington soceity to find out for certain as remington also made some special runs for some of their Distributor.

It looks to me like a field grade gun that an owner had extensively modified---and then shot clay birds with it every weekend for the next 20 years.
Value will be minimal due to extensive wear & damage.

I tend to see this gun in a different light then most . I have a hard time believing the finish on the receiver is worn so all blueing is gone but bluing on barrel is 90% plus . 0 -
I agree with PerryShooter. That barrel is no where near as old as the reciever. That would be a good candidate for a restoration on the reciever, perhaps.

It's likely the receiver was stripped of bluing when it was engraved, and left in the white. 0
