Rheinmetall NR-4 shotgun

I was given this shotgun, by a very old family member. It is a 16 gauge Rheinmetall NR-4 it as some funny looking marks on the barrell. The serial number starts with 10XX, wondering how old this is Thanks

  We had a number of questions about them over the years, unfortunately little is know about them. Dating to the 1920's in Germany. The markings are German proof marks as required by German law.
  
  The only written information I have been able to find over the years is a magazine article from the German Weapons Journal. It was translated into English and published in "The International Arms Review", published by the Jolex Co. of Paramus N.J. It's not dated, but I believe it's from the 1970's.
  
  It's a technical description of the function and individual parts of gun serial number 2131, including disassembly instructions.
