  S&W 800-331-0852 will date the gun.in some cases the numbers on gun dont match.after removing the grips you will find the correct ser# on the bottom of the frame.

  Bob, FYI you have one of the very last "S" prefix Model 28 revolvers made. They only went up to S333454.
