Armscorp M14 weird heel markings

I recently acquired (what was advertised as, and what I believed to be ) an Armscorp U.S. Rifle 7.62 MM M14 NM, s/n 110XX.

After looking at pictures of other examples of this breed online, it occurs that I might have something else or, well, unique ?...

The markings on the heel are as expected, with one exception - the manufacturer's identification is not the "TRW-like" Armscorp logo I've seen on other Armscorp examples.

This rifle has only a capital letter "A". Here's a picture:

The op-rod rail is marked with the "Armscorp. Inc. Baltmore MD" text found on others....

But so far, I've been unable to fnd any info or reference to this particular marking (and it's significance) anywhere on the web.

Any ideas ? (or educated guesses ?)

    First time I've seen that marking. But, the other markings on the receiver look exactly like Armscorp markings, & the op rod markings are also consistent. Armscorp was a small company that was secretive, & wouldn't permit customers to visit or pick up parts or products.

    In addition to complete rifles, they also sold receivers. Could the "A" marking indicate a "receiver only"? That would be my guess.

    They went out of business after the owner died a couple of years ago, so I doubt we will ever know much more about them.

    EDIT: I have seen the Armscorp of Baltimore shop (from the outside). They only produced M14-clones. They were not related to Armscor of the Phillipines, Armscorp of S Africa, or any other company with a similar name.

    I think the logo is almost identical for the S. African company... Not sure if they're related, though.
