Ithaca DB last pat. date on receiver 1889

I have an Ithaca DB last patent date stamped on receiver is 1889. I have been unable to find any information about it. It is a beautiful gun engraved on all metal (trigger guard, all screws, for end plate, safety. It has double triggers. A seen of quail foraging on one side and in flight on the other. Also other designs engraved around the quail. All screws are silver and the receiver is silver. All parts are serial numbered and match. The gun says Ithaca Gun Co. It does not say New York anywhere. The serial number is 154** The butt plate is brown and says Ithaca Gun and has two birds in flight. The barrels are also patterned and has groves in the rib shaped like 1/4 moons with a small brass front sight. I am working on posting pictures.

    you have an Ithaca Crass model, called by the designer's name.
    Sounds like a pretty high grade gun.
    The "pattern" on the barrels is undoubtedly Damascus twist. Such barrels are not recommended for smokeless powder and maybe not even black; what with a century of use and oxidation.

    There is a gap in the serial number chart but not a very wide one. Your shotgun was apparently made in late 1889, 1890, or 1891.

    Thanks for the information, I do want to sell this gun. I hope to put photos up Monday. If you can give me a value, that would be great. I have yet to see another like it on Gun Broker.
