marlin camp carbine ser # info
OK, first off, I've done a fair amount of homework(haven't called marlin yet though..) it seems the way to figure out DOM for marlin model 9(camp carbine) is subtract the first 2 serial numbers from 2000 and this is date it was made...The problem is, I've seen a few posts that say "mine starts with 45", or "mine starts with 21" how can this be? The reason I'm asking is because I recently purchased one that is/was supposed to be preban(needed in NY for folding stock) that the owner swears he bought in the 80's but has 01 as the first 2 numbers meaning it would be a '99 manufacture...anyone have any other info???thanks for any help!

http://oldguns.net/sn_php/marlinlookup.php
lot of info. this site worked for me,my camp 9 DOM is 1989
if this doesn't work let me know I have a couple more sites that may work.0 -
'99 was the last year they were made. If yours has a checkered stock, it is a later one. '99 should be the correct year for it.
EDIT,contact the guys at,
www.marlinowners.com and see if they have dates for camp 9,s.0 -
moonshine, I had tried that-put in the 1st 2 digits 01 says no match found?
dcs, nope, stock is smooth, no checkering?0 -
I've got the same deal with my 045936xx 9mm, smooth stock, manual bolt hold open on left side of mag. guide (as well as auto hold open), orange front sight with sky view hood. My .45 with 13826xx came through as 1987. 0 -
