Contender Forearm Question
When I bought my contender it came with two barrels with similar forearms to this picture.

The "new" barrel I bought has this forearm.

The issue is there is not the cut out where the trigger guard moves when the frame is opened. I believe the "new" barrel is older than my frame and other barrels.
Can is remove this material that hinders the opening of the frame? Or should I find a forearm that has this pocket?
The "new" barrel has an octagon shape and the other barrels are round.
Thanks in advance for your time.

They changed them when they went to the easy open style..
No problem I can think of if you remove a bit of wood so it will function..
Your new barrel is the older one...0 -
Should be no problem. I have alot of barrels and forends, you're just lopping off a bit of wood and that should be no big deal. The octagon barrels are the older ones, IIRC they're probably 10" length.
Matching forends to barrel is a bit of a challenge with the T/Cs sometimes especially when you deal with long gun and handgun barrels.0
