32 S&W long for 32 H&R mag?

Can 32 S&W long be used in a revolver chambered for 32 H&R mag? I have received different opinions on this. Has anyone tried it? Thanks, Paul[?]

    Works fine, no problem at all. When the 32 H & R was brought out in the late 80's, the idea was it was going to magnumize the 32 S & W long. Similarly as to how the .357 Mag was brought out in the 30's, to do the same to the .38 special.

    32 S & W long isn't exactly cheap either. You should consider getting into reloading, if you anticipate doing a lot of shooting.


    Don't pay any attention to the BS put out by a lot of the employees of your local gun store. Either their ignorant Micky D's rejects, or they want to sell you the expensive stuff because they don't have any of the 32 S & W Long in stock.

    Your gun will also shoot .32 Auto(.32 ACP)ammo. The round was designed for autoloading pistols but it works fine in revolvers.

    The cheaper Remington or Winchester FMJ works for me. The recoil is mild and accuracy is acceptable.

    FYI: I fire .32 S&W, .#@ S&W Long and the H&R in my Rugers. No problems at all. For what it is worth, reloading is the best answer to ammo. costs.
