My friend has a Mod. 70 in .270. It is a Bohler special made in 1955. I know Bohler is a steel manufacturer. Is the Bohler barrel the only thing that makes this gun "special"? It is in excellent condition. I have no pics but looking for a good ball park figure on what it might be worth. I am thinking about $1100.00 but can find no info on this particular rifle.

Having a G-series serial number, it is a post 63 model. Keep hunting with it, as it's value will remain the same. Does it say 70 Classic, or just Model 70? The classic has the mauser style claw extractor.

Not possible. As Hawkshaw pointed out, the serial number tells us that it was manufactured circa 1975.

Does it have a floor plate? If not, it's a model 70-A an "economy" version model 70. Keep on shooting it.
