1911 barrel question
Okay so I got this auction running...http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=224801939
And I got this email asking if it will fit a colt series 70 mk4.. I believe it will, with proper fitting of the swinging link. Is this right???

I just picked up a Caspian compact model in stainless from a friend. The barrel says "CUSTOM 45 ACP" on the top of the bore. Can anyone tell me who manufactured this barrel? This gun is in beautiful condition and I am figuring I got a deal at $800, seeing as there is one just like it on this sight for $1500. Any ideas on the barrel? 0 -
He would have to fit a regular bushing instead of the Mk IV collet.
Well, he wouldn't HAVE to, but it would be helpful.0 -
Got it, THANKS 0 -
Hello as others have said it will work most likely with proper Bushing."The Series 70 Bushing is different". but like all parts They may need minor fitting. There are two kinds of replacement parts sold NEW. The normal parts are for the most part "DROP IN " and Match grade parts are OVERSIZE in certain areas and have to be fitted in these areas. Without knowing history of this barrel it is hard to tell what it will fit. Needless to say if metal has been remove to fit one gun then it is much harder to add metal back, to get a proper fit to a gun that needs larger parts. I would say as to return policy that money back if it will not work with proper bushing and returned in same condition as when shipped with no attempt to fit their gun and buyer pays shipping both ways. 0 -
Thanks to all...
