pen gun

SCPO RICE
I have a 25acp American derringer pen gun. The breech block is broken. Split down middle. Can it be fixed,or welded? What would the value be as a parts gun? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Need some GOOD ADVICE on this item. I believe the cartridges with this pen gun are tear gas, is this thing legal to own and / or sell ?

    There might be legal problems with selling this pen gun, if it is able to chamber a conventional .38 caliber cartridge. Many of the early production, pen gun type, tear gas dispensers used standard .38 revolver cartridges loaded with tear gas compound. These are no longer legal per the feds. Use caution prior to selling, to keep yourself out of a jam.

    I am wrong about this being a gun, I looked up one on {elsewhere} and it sounds like it may be a gas baton used in WWII, do you know the value?

    what you have is the federal labs gas billy used in prisons and such small 38 cal hole in end but really used a special tear gas round in the 25mm calibur..shells are very rare to find i have only seen 1 in 30 years,,you could give the prisnor a head bump or shoot the gas the only problem with them was the small exit port caused the gas to expel with force not only gassing the rioters but giving the shooter some of it to there are some on the auction side time to time i have seen them new in the boxes..pretty much out of use after ww2 ,,alcatraze gun locker inventory had a few on hand

    I don't believe what Scpo Rice described in his first post is a gas billy. I have seen them both, and the pen sized tear gas dispensers are much smaller in size. Though larger then the fountain pens in common use at that time.

    Unless already registered with BATF, current "value" is a $250,000 fine and 10 years in "Club Fed".
