Help with S&W Mod 60
Hello, I have a Smith & Wesson 60 with wierd numbers for the serial, it has three "X"s in the number. X1XX? is the serial. I used the "?" not to identify the last digit but the "?" is a number. Also stamped below is the combo "C15" and what looks like two srcipt "C"s. Is this normal? The serial a mistake? Thank you in advance.

I just have to see close up pics of that please. 0 -
Unusual, is this serial number from the bottom of the pistol grip, or from the area inside when you open the cylinder? Sounds like markings from inside that aren't serial numbers. 0 -
The X stamping is an assembly number used at the factory. The serial number should be stamped on the butt of the frame. You may have to remove the grips the read it. 0 -
Ahhh... Thank you guys. The "x"s I refer to are next to the cylinder. I have to remove the grips for serial number. Thanks! 0
