Rechambering Aug 5,56 barrel to 9mm?
Would it be possible to rechamber a 5,56 Steyr Aug heavy barrel to 9x19?
The diameters of the 9mm cartridge is slightly larger than the largest portion of the 5,56 casing and likewise with the bullet, so it seems doable.
The pressures of the 9mm are about 60% of the 5,56 so with the slight thinning of the barrel wall coupled with using the thicker 5,56 "heavy barrel", I would think that should keep the integrity of the barrel, yes?
Seems the 9mm Steyr Aug barrels are few and far between.

We have an AUG guy on our boards but I can't remember who it is. It might be kimberkid. There is a factory conversion which costs a ton, but they do show up on the auction side from time to time.

I am not in nay way affiliated with this seller, I am simply using his auction to show the parts needed for the conversion.0
