S&W model 686 - dates of manufacturer

Hello,

I have two S&W model 686's and would like to know their approximate date of manufacture. Can anyone help me with these dates and refer a good reference book to me for Smith & Wesson gun info such as manufacturer dates, serial number markings, etc? Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

serial # ADH 59xx

  The best S & W reference book that I'm aware of is "The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson", 3rd Edition, by Supica & Nahas. Amazon always has them in stock.
