Old Rifle

I have an old rifle given to me by my grandfather. I know nothing about it and thought you folks might know a bit about it. This is what markings I have found. "Budapest M.95" S/N 1990D. It appears to be missing the clip or magazine. I will attach some photos.

    I recently was given an old percussion rifle by my uncle.

    It is a .31 caliber.

    Converted from flintlock to percussion.

    Barrel is well over 30"

    I have been unable to find any markings on the rifle itself.

    The wood is in excellent shape with tiger striping.

    It does have some blue remaining, maybe 60%, but no rust, pitting or any other damage.

    It has some engraving here and there and has brass that is very tarnished.

    If I clean up the brass, do I lower the value?

    Thanks, That website only told me what I already knew though. Trying to find out what all the other symbols on the gun mean. My rifle is only 36 inches in length also. Does not appear to have been altered. The shortest one they listed on the website was 40 inches? I clicked on all the categories listed and mine just looked different?

    That said, far as I know the Finn's never used a carbine with that short of overall length. The Russians and various other Communists countries had the Model 44 carbine which was about 40" long. The Finn's never used it?

    There are Finn capture M44 and M38 carbines, but they are very rare to find. Does your rifle have a side folding bayonet? If it does, it's a M44, a M38 if it doesn't, or a M44 that's had the barrel cut off behing the bayo mount. Post some pics.
