Beretta .22 Auto Rifle??? Help!

Model number (I think AUT is short for auto),
years made, scope rings available, ball park value, ......
Any info would help

  I remember seeing the Beretta .22 auto rifle listed in Gun Digests of the 1950s. It has a lot in common with the older Walther .22 with auto-or-bolt operation.

  I don't know how relevant this is to your question? The early Weatherby Mark XXII, semi-auto, .22's, sold in the 60's, was made by Beretta in Italy.
  
  The Mark XXII's were always high quality and pricy guns. In the 1968, Gun Digest, catalog section, The Mark XXII's had a MSRP of $120, whereas the standard model Ruger 10-22 was $55.
  
  
  The age of your rifle can be ascertained by the Italian Proof Marks. One of which is a coded date.

  The Beretta 22 auto rifle was simply a knock off of the pre-WWII Walther 22 auto design. It should sell in the price range Mark suggested. The 4 screw holes most likely are for the Weaver sheet metal side mount and detract greatly from the value.
