Value of a Hamilton M-27 boys rifle

Gun is Very good cond. and all factory original, and has no cracks in the wood.

This information is taken from a five year old (2006) copy of the Standard Catalog of Firearms. Hamilton Rifle Model 27 Single shot tip up .22 caliber rifle with stamped steel receiver. Barrel length 16 inches brass lined or 147/8 inches. Overall length 30 inches. First produced in 1906. Values Excl. $-, VG-$300, Good-$200. Fair-$$150 and Poor-$100
There is also a Model 027 listed with a walnut stock and with the same values. Remember these were inexpensive Boys Rifles and like the cowboy's horse, ridden hard and put away wet. The rifles received little care and few in Good or better condition are encountered.. The Hamilton Rifle Company was in business from 1900 to 1945.

These rifles were also used as promotional items in the day. One feed company in the Mid West advertised that certain bags of feed contained a Hamilton model 27. Who wouldn't want to the buy that brand of feed? The Hamilton was also made in Japan for a while as well as Michigan. I have seen several of these with bulges in the barrels (brass lined).
