Bayonet
I am hoping someone can help me determine the origin of a bayonet I bought at an auction (said to be Nazi, but I doubt it). It has a half moon and star on the blade edge and a star on top of handle guard. The number 20255 is on side of handle guard and letters "AS FA" on end of handle. Can anyone help me find out information about it? Thanks in advance.

concerning my earlier post about the same bayonet. I believe that indeed it is a 1938 turkish mauser baynet. how much would it cost. 0 -
The M7 and M9 bayonets will work. 0 -
+1. They will work on a 20" barelled gun but not on a 16" gun. 0 -
Conflicting answers....why would they put a bayonet lug on a 16" barrelled gun if no bayonet would fit? Anybody? BT 0 -

Product availability. If (Colt, say) were to make up a contract run of 10,000 rifles, for XXX, and 8,000 M4's for YYY, much simpler to keep the maximum number of parts the same for both firearm configurations. It's basically economy in production. Best, Joe0
