I have a Colt 38 auto that was my moms.I was trying to find out the age and maybe the worth don"t think i could ever sell it but would like to know. the serial number is 41469 the gun it self is one of the best shooting guns i have ever used

    it says automatic colt 38 rinless smokless the pat was 1902 made in hartford ct

    From your description it appears to be the Model 1903 Pocket Hammer, similar to this photo off the net. They weren't very popular as far as the various different Colt models were concerned. Your Mom's was probably made in the 20's. Need photos for positive identification and valuation.

    Do you understand that .38 Auto and .38 Super are NOT the same thing? If you have a .38 Auto, VERY bad ju-ju to feed it .38 Super.
