Springfield Arms 1929 model 12 ga

I looking for any information about a Springfield Arms 1929 Model single shot 12 gauge. My dad bought one and would like some info.

I have noticed that the hammer is a little too tight. Is there any place that I can go to find a manual for this weapon so that I can figure out how to fix the hammer?

    Your gun is what is commonly refered to as a "Trade Brand Name" shotgun. That is a gun that was made by a major maker(and before 1940) for and sold by a wholesaler or retailer who chose the name to go on the gun. Guns with the name SPRINGFIELD were made the Stevens Arms & Tool Company. They were the same as more expensive models made by Stevens but had hardwood forearms and buttstocks instead of walnut and were less well finished. I'm not sure what you mean buy the hammer is a little too tight. Is the hammer hard to move? Then it may be that the gun may just need a good cleaning and oiling. As far as I know, there are no manuals. You can contact the following address for more information.

    yes the hammer is hard to move. I have taken it apart, but I can see no way of getting to the hammer.

    The hammer is normally held in place by a thru pin that goes trough the frame from side to side. The pin can be removed by drifting (driving) it out from right to left with an appropriate pin punch. Be sure to remove the main or hammer spring before removing the hammer.

    Most likely a Stevens Model 94.
