Legalities of Selling Metal Piercing 357mag ammo

I have a older box of Metal Piercing 357mag ammo by Western Super X. It is a full box of 50. Can I sell/ship this ammo is so rough value?

    not much on armour piercing as it is lead with a metal shell made to avoid deflection when fired on car bodys/windshields..they are collectable but there will be some that look unfavorably as they could possibly defeat a kevlar vest due to the point design,my own sharp tips that i cast from linotype defeat 3/16 steel slightly under full load..what color is the box then i can de dated

    Thanks guys. The Box is bright yelloe with a big red 'X' in the center. The write up on the back of the box says 'it is for penetration of light gauge metal such as car bodies, for use by lawenforcement'. I was just checking to make sure that it was legal for me to auction it.

    Hi,

    Loaded AP handgun ammunition can be legally sold in the US by an individual.

    Check state laws, such as the ones in California or other anti-firearm States, which may prohibit sales or ownership of AP handgun ammunition. Don't know if there are any.

    By definition the metal piercing cartridges are metal piercing and not armor piercing. The construction of the metal piercing bullet is a steel jacket with lead core.

    The definition of an AP bullet is different:

    1. a projectile or projectile core which may be used in a handgun and
    which is constructed entirely (excluding the presence of traces of other substances) from one or a combination of tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, bronze, beryllium copper, or depleted uranium; or

    2. a full jacketed projectile larger than .22 caliber designed and
    intended for use in a handgun and whose jacket has a weight of more than 25 percent of the total weight of the projectile.

    The metal piercing cartridges are neither of the above.

    Generally, it is legal in the US (check State laws again) for an individual to own handgun AP ammunition, to sell handgun AP ammunition, to buy handgun AP ammunition, and to shoot AP handgun ammunition.

    However, it is illegal to manufacture AP handgun ammunition or import AP handgun ammunition without the proper licenses.

    I have collected many handgun AP rounds including the metal piercing round, THV rounds, KTW rounds, and Arcane rounds (all on the so-called banned list). As I write this post, I have four KTW rounds waiting on my desk to be inventoried into my collection. These were purchased on-line from reputable seller.
