Sizing Dies
When buying the bushing type sizer dies how do you determine what bushing to use ?

The usual drill is to start with a loaded round with your brass and bullet. Use regular dies or have somebody make up a dummy for you in his. Measure the outside diameter of the neck. Subtract .002" for springback and seating tension, get that size bushing.

Thanks Hawk for the info. 0 -
Hawk gave great advice. The starting point is .002" tension. Now, after shooting loads to determine the best load, you can buy bushings .001"+ and .001"- from the original bushing. Many times, one or the other bushing will show better results (slightly, if accuracy is your thing) than the original bushing.
I suggest Redding if you want bushing style dies and bushings.0 -
