Kimber eclipse ULE II

I listed my kimber on another forum for trade and someone on the forum told me it's not what I think it is. I purchases it almost 5 years ago from a local gun shop. And would find it hard to believe they would intentionally screw a customer. If anyone can help that would be great.

The gentleman on the other forum says it's not a eclipse cause.....

I'm sorry to inform you of this... but I don't think you have a REAL eclipse Ultra II... maybe that's why the lowball offers? Was the frame painted or refinished by you? Did you swap out the trigger?

The Kimber Eclipse Ultra is the ONLY Ultra in Kimber's current lineup with a STEEL frame. All other current production Ultras sport an alloy frame. That's one of the key selling features of the Eclipse Ultra... a SS frame. Easiest way to determine if your has a STEEL frame is weigh the entire pistol empty. If it weighs 31oz, its a steel frame (although still with the wrong color scheme), if it weighs 25oz it has an alloy frame and YOU got ripped off (if you purchased it as an Eclipse)

Is this dude right? I been researching and can't find much. I know it was slightly used when I purchased it and believe it was manufactured in 2003. I did find some other ones on the Internet that claim to be what I believe I have and look just the same as mine.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

    I also find it hard to believe that a gun shop would deliberately misrepresent one type of gun as another. They could get into a lot of trouble doing things like that.

    The image is a bit too small for me to read clearly, but on the right side of the slide I think your gun is labelled "Eclipse Ultra". Read it yourself.

    Edit: Looking closer, perhaps it does say "Eclipse ULE II". If so, it would be a good fit for the description TSR lifted from the Blue Book below (ie blackened steel frame and no barrel bushing).

    Bluntly, I don't know enough about Kimber's lineup to even try to answer the question about what you have. Its possible (even probable) that Kimber has put out limited editions guns different than their typical production ones, too.

    Edit 2: If this is really one of only 227 guns like it made, this would probably qualify.

    Probably the best thing to do is to call Kimber, tell them your problem, give them your gun's serial number, and ask them exactly what you have. That should resolve any lingering questions.

    From the pics it seems you have an internal extractor model , it may be a little older then 5 years ..I think the internal extractor model was 7 to 10 years ago at least. If it does not say Eclipse Ultra II on the slide it is not a II , it is an older model. In that case any number of differences may be seen. Just MHO

    Basically, you know what you have in your hand. The moron that is telling you don't know what you have, is just that, a MORON. He says it is not an "ELCIPSE ULTRA II"...well, he is right there, it is not an "ELCIPSE ULTRA II". It is an Eclipse ULE II. Yes, I copied the picture, and blew it up. You need to tell him, that he has not a clue what you have, and most likely, if I were you, he never would.
