Will a ruger 77-22 barrel fit a10-22?
I was reading a listing for a ruger 96-22 barrel and it said it will fit and work on a ruger 10-22...so i am wondering if the 77-22 barrel will fit on the 10-22..i know both the 96 and 77 are bolt action..so i thought if the 92 would fit mabey the 77 would? any info would be great

The Ruger 96-22 is a lever gun. And no, the 77-22 barrel won't work on a 10-22. 77-22 is threaded and 10-22 is held in by a barrel clamp block. 0 -
The 77 barrels that i am looking at are not threaded..My 10-22 action is threaded..it will take the slip in barrel or threaded barrel..i had never seen or heard of a threaded 10-22 till i bought this one 0 -
I've read where some of the off brand, non Ruger, receivers are threaded. Would be good news if Ruger is threading them now. I had AcraGlass mine in because it kept shooting loose.
Interesting. Just took a quick look around (google) and not all 77-22's are threaded. Are the non-threaded ones retained by a block like the 10-22?0 -
yes the non threaded ones use the block...they look the same as the 10-22 thats what made me start thinking it may fit the 10-22...i dont think i have factory reciver either...will have to check tho 0 -

To the OP,
Yes, the 77-22, and 96-22 Barrels will in fact fit the 10-22. There are some companies that make aftermarket barrels that are octagon for the 96-22, and the breech face is not hardened, so they say they will not warranty them on the 10-22.
asphalt cowboy,
I have seen some AMT Signature series reciever's and other's for the 10-22 that were threaded, but none for the 77-22, or 77-22 Magnum. The 77-22 Hornet, and 77-44 recievers are threaded. The 77-22, and 77-22 Magnums are all not threaded, as far as I know, and I have sold them since their inception.

They will work as long as the extractor cut lines up.
We put a heavy 10-22 barrel in a 77-22 and had to cut a second extractor groove for the 77-22 bolt.0 -

This.
The 77/22 barrel will fit in a 10/22. The 77/22 has 2 extractor cuts in it so if you try to use a 10/22 barrel on a 77/22 you would need to cut a second slot.0
