1906 Nickel
I have a 1906 in Nickel with a serial number in the 17xx range (not a type-O) I would like to verify which parts are suppose to be nickel and which are not,... What is the best place or best way for me to find out this info on a nice piece of history.
Thanks,
Rodeo

Hello Rodeo:
I'll hazard a guess that you are talking about a Winchester Model 1906 pump .22 (short with that low SN). Generally the receiver and trigger guard were nickeled, but "generally", Winchester would additionally nickel plate the butt plate, and magazine tube if it was so ordered.
Cody firearms Museum (Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, WY) has most 1906 manufacture records SNs in your range. The records will tell you the special features as well as the date shipped from the warehouse.0
