Need Winchester butt plate mod 76

I need a butt plate for a model 1876 but im having trouble finding one but if i remember right i heard that a model 1885 will also fit. Is this correct ?

    Only the very early Model 1885 butt plates will work, and even then, they are not 100% correct due to the fact that they do not have a trapdoor in them like the Model 1876 butt plates did.

    Will the Chaparral 1876 buttplate fit? I heard they copied the 1876 pretty close.

    No... the 1876 BP has a turned down toe, whereas the 1873 BP does not.

    BTW I'm looking for 1890 cartridge elevators. I think they are the same for 22 short, 22 long rifle, and the 22 WRF.


    Bert; where any of the 1890 WRF produced with short barrels in the 10" length??
