What Scope Rings Suggested

Target Driller
What scope rings would you suggest for the following setup:

Rifle: .17 Remington (centerfire) 700 BDL

Scope: Sightron SII 3-12 x 42 AO

Want real nice grade rings, .. no cheap stuff.

Your thoughts?

    weaver high or extra high tatical rings. can be had for about 40.00.another option is burris signature rings.

    What sort of stock do you have? Are you using a Weaver base or turn in? I tend to use the heavier "tactical" looking Weaver base stuff on synthetic stocks like the McMillian or HS Precision. On wood I'll be more conventional.

    Ditto, but if you plan to put them on and leave them Conotrols are very, very nice. They are not great for moving scope to scope or rifle to rifle.

    Being in the scope business and mounting upwards of 3500 scopes in the past 4 years I would have to say that I have fallen in love with Deadnutz Products Game Reaper one piece base/ring series. After a couple hundred of them I have never had a problem with them, not once. I only wish I could say the same from any of the other manufactures.

    The rifle has traditional wood stock and has a Weaver base already mounted.

    I presume the rings are fitted for 42mm tube body? ... Juat have to figure which height will be correct also.

    For that class of rifle, and scope, I would definately use the Burris Signature rings, and bases. They align the scope without having to lap the rings, to prevent damaging the scope tube. In today's world, there are a lot of scope tubes that get damaged, as most people are unknowing about the evils of most factory scope rings, and proper installation. The majority have the notion that it is a plug-n-play option. The Signature rings help eliminate this.

    The ring height is going to depend on your individual style and type of shooting. Don't mount the scope any higher than absolutely necessary to get a full view when cheeking the rifle. As long as the front bell clears the barrel, that's good enough. Those towering tacticrap rings cause more problems than anything.

    Warne. I have become thoroughly enamored with their products...great bang for the buck. Burris stuff is really nice as well...have limited experience with dednutz stuff, but hear it is very good as well.

    Wow, great responses ... Thanks! I really appreciate it. ... Looks like I'll try a set of the Burris Signature Rings. Will respond back to this thread once everything is mounted up and tried at the range.
